Wok Ring cooked Garlic Butter Prawns

Ingredients: 75g (3oz) butter, 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard, juice of half a lemon, 2 cloves garlic (chopped), half a bunch of fresh parsley (chopped), 1kg (2lb) medium fresh prawns (shells removed with tails attached, and deveined).

Directions: In a large wok over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the mustard, lemon juice, garlic and parsley. When combined, add the prawns and stir fry until pink and opaque.

Ginger Steak on easy  Roll out Grill

Ingredients: 6 sirloin steaks (175-225g each, at least 1.7cm thick), 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1.5 teaspoons of ground ginger, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons ground black pepper, 2 teaspoons dried basil, 1.5 tablespoons English mustard powder, 1.5 teaspoons lemon juice.

Directions: Mix together the soy sauce, ginger, salt, pepper, basil, mustard and lemon juice then pour over the steaks and leave to marinade for a few hours before cooking. When ready to cook, pre-heat the grill to its highest setting for 10 minutes. Place the steaks on the grill-pan making sure to pour the remaining marinade evenly over each one. Grill for 11/2 – 2 minutes on each side for rare; 3 minutes on each side for medium; and about 4minutes on each side for well done.

Fan Oven

Use Falcon’s fan oven to cook your pavlova to perfection – this delicate meringue benefits from the even temperature created.

Ingredients: 3 large egg whites, 175g (6oz) caster sugar, 275 ml (10 fl oz) whipped double cream, mixed seasonal fruits, toasted flaked almonds, icing sugar

Directions: Whisk the egg whites until they form soft peaks, whisk in the caster sugar, spoon the meringue onto greaseproof paper on a baking tray, place in oven and bake for 1 hour. When cooked leave to cool, then spoon on the whipped cream and arrange seasonal fruits (such as blueberries and blackberries) and sprinkle the almonds on top. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
