House of Blum excites at KBB

On a highly attractive and welcoming stand at KBB Blum showed their latest product innovations under the banner of “The House of Blum” – demonstrating how their versatile products offer major opportunities and advantages to not only kitchen manufacturers but also bathroom, bedroom and living area furniture designers.

Visitors to the stand were able to use, view and test the latest Blum innovations under the concept of “Perfecting Motion”. The most striking of these was the new Movento runner system for wooden drawers with Synchro Motion running perfection and additional load bearing. Most importantly Movento offers a new 4-way adjustment of the drawer fronts making the accurate installation of furniture an even more simple process.

Perfecting Motion was also evidenced on the action of the Aventos lift systems where electric Servo-Drive action is used for both automatic opening and closing while the Servo-Drive system was shown widely for the automatic opening of all base units with Blumotion integrated soft-close on the Tandem runners. In the bathroom context the mechanical Tip-On automatic opening system was demonstrated.

Base unit pull-outs, as well as larder units featured Blum’s new stylish Antaro profile, which gives a more geometric look to the functional side and internal dividing elements of the drawer interior. Antaro represents a progression from the Tandembox gallery system.

All the internal storage organisation featuring the various Blum Orga-Line solutions were arranged around the logical system of Dynamic Space Planning so that goods and utensils etc are all to hand and accessible where they’re needed.

Of great interest to visitors and much admired were Blum’s latest range of CLIP top hinges with integrated Blumotion soft close engineered into the hinge boss and fitted with a special de-activation tab for hanging light and small doors.

Throughout the displays Blum’s unique system of Intivo drawer side and pull-out front designer inserts clearly showed how manufacturers could individualise designs and drawer beautiful exterior design elements into the cabinet interior.

The Blum stand was humming for all 4 days of the show and Blum Sales & Marketing Director David Sanders said that the genuine level of interest in product innovation and the value they can bring to modern furniture was very gratifying.

A real plus of the show was to Age UK and the Willen Hospice, based in Milton Keynes, who both benefitted from the visitor book at the stand. For every signature received Blum donated £1, and the final total was £1,000 – £500 for each charity.
