“A backlit universe” say Schmidt & HI-MACS
For the occasion of a cocktail reception at the Schmidt concession showroom in Bourgoin Jallieu (38) France, Laurent Daniel presented to the public his exclusive creation of a new generation kitchen. For this exceptional event, a Chef agreed to work on a uniformly backlit HI-MACS® worktop.
Produced in Opal colour from the Lucent translucent range, this creation caused great excitement owing to its originality and impact. Anne Bourcier, marketing manager for HI-MACS® Europe explains: “LDC Design’s use of a range of translucent material marks the start of a new trend. There appears to be a growing demand for this type of product which is flexible (it may also be lit), fashionable, hygienic and functional”.
Designed entirely by Laurent Daniel, two back lit horseshoe shapes surround an item of white lacquered glass furniture to create a harmonious use of the space and the material. Non-porous, assembled without any visible joints and very hygienic, HI-MACS® is ideal for the kitchen, the bathroom, the office and for creating objects and furniture, with applications in this creative field being practically limitless. Anne Bourcier concludes: “HI-MACS® is even used in hospitals because it is non-porous, meaning that it offers unequalled cleanliness and great resistance to stains!”
At the inauguration, visitors had the opportunity to take part in preparing the gourmet menu served with fine wines and discover Kitchenaid’s top-of-the-range household appliances such as the latest generation steam oven. The Kitchenaid brand was also a partner in this great adventure.
