Join the science experiment – induction cooking from Mertz Kitchen Appliances

Mertz is inviting keen cooks to join the science experiment in hob technology – induction. The appliance company has just announced the introduction of two new state-of-the-art induction hobs to its innovative brand.

The hobs harness revolutionary and energy efficient induction technology*, which provides instant heat but allows the surface of the hob to stay safe to the touch. Not only are the hobs super efficient and cool (in many ways), they are also easier to clean as spilled foods do not burn onto the surface.

These sleek, low-profile ceramic glass models from Mertz boast an aluminium front edge strip, front edge touch-control operation, auto pan detection (they sense when a ferrous pan is placed on the surface), nine heat settings, child safety lock, residual heat indicators and anti-overheat protection device.

In addition these European-made appliances are very competitively priced and carry a 3-year parts and labour guarantee.

MI603FL

MI603FL Induction Hob

This is a four-zone, 60cm wide induction hob with power boost function enabling cooks to boost the output by an impressive 33% with one touch. There are two large (2100mm) 1.5 kW zones which boost to 2kW, and a further two smaller 1.2kW (1450mm) zones which can boost to 1.6kW.

MI900FL

MI900FL Induction Hob

This  is a five-zone, 90cm wide induction hob with two 2.3kW zones, and three 1.4kW zones in four different dimensions (1600 -2400mm) to cater for various pan sizes. Further features of this advanced appliance include a timer facility and minute minder to allow for precision cooking.

* When ferrous pan is placed on the hob surface, a copper coil underneath creates a magnetic field that, in turn, creates an electric current in the pan which heats the food!
