Smallbone wins Gold at Chelsea Flower Show
Smallbone of Devizes has been awarded a coveted Royal Horticultural ”Society Gold Award for Excellence” for the Best Trade Stand at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.
Smallbone’s ’Alfresco Kitchen’ collaboration for Chelsea Flower Show highlighted the new trend for indoor / outdoor living. Their stunning new Oak & Silver kitchen was built within a contemporary orangery by Amdega and set in a lush, architectural garden by award-winning garden designer Stephen Woodhams.
Smallbone also have a long association with the Michelin-starred Chef Raymond Blanc, who delighted visitors to Chelsea Press Day with ‘garden to plate’ recipes cooked in the state-of-the-art Smallbone kitchen.
The Trade Stand awards are given by the RHS in recognition of exhibits which have been designed and built to extremely high standards and which feature exceptional planting. Judges toured the trade stands at the show on Monday 24th May and the awards were announced the following day. The president of the Royal Horticultural Society, Giles Coode-Adams, presented the Gold Award to Smallbone at a special ceremony.
