Smeg Appliances clean up with a new dishwasher range
There is nothing more soul destroying than the aftermath of a dinner party. As the dirty dishes pile up and crockery covers the kitchen surfaces, the thought of washing up can fill you with dread. But now thanks to Smeg, there are dishwashers designed to provide a helping hand, no matter how many people you are entertaining.
The new Smeg range of dishwashers, seamlessly blends style with technology, and can carry up to 14 place settings, so you don’t have to hold back on inviting friends round!
The collection of appliances not only looks great, but with new basket designs, better performance and increased functionality, Smeg is the number one choice for dishwashing in 2011.
Programming Power
With a new curve panel fascia all Smeg freestanding models feature intuitive controls and a wide range of programmes to suit all household needs. If you are short on time or have a stack of dishes to get through the Speed 27 Min function is designed for you and means your dishes will be clean in no time at all. Or simply use theQuick Time function on any programme and reduce the washing time by up to 55%.
If you need power cleaning but don’t have time to wait, simply load up your pots and pans, press Strong and Fast and you’ll go from grime to glean in less than an hour. But if you’d rather not wash and go, use the Delay function to programme the dishwasher to come on in one to 24 hours time.
By selecting Hyclean it provides peace of mind that all germs are banished – sanitising dishes thanks to a higher rinse temperature and long rinse time.
Save Water, Save Energy
Smeg dishwashers have been developed to achieve the best cleaning performance while reducing environmental impact. All of the new products use 40% less water than existing models due to a new hydraulic system.
The new EnerSave option saves up to 20% of energy by ensuring perfect drying and control over rinsing cycles. At the end of the drying cycle a special device automatically opens the door slowly and progressively so that less heating energy is used.
A daily ½ load is specially designed for smaller households or opt for FlexiZone (1/2 load) which allows you to wash less dishes and save energy, water and time.
The dishwashers only need 10 litres of water to perform a wash cycle, compared with 13 to 14 litres, which was the previous standard, and the current industry average, which is normally given as 14-16 litres. Their energy rating is also better than the industry standard at A -20%.
Your Place or Mine?
The 14 place setting models feature three cutlery baskets. The upper basket is specifically designed for cutlery or long utensils and features EasyGlide’ for easy extraction. The basket can be adjusted to three different levels and can accommodate dishes up to a 30cm diameter – it definitely won’t be a squeeze in a Smeg! Glasses and cups also have their own specific zone in the lower basket and rear supports ensure they stay in place.
While the medium sized 13 place setting dishwashers have optimal space with two load baskets and a new sliding cutlery basket as well as the adjustable basket levels to make room for large crockery.
Choose from freestanding or integrated in stainless steel, white or black, all are easy to install and are also extra quiet meaning that the din of a dishwasher will not interrupt your dinner party conversation.
