The ‘ultimate kitchen of tomorrow’ to be launched at Grand Designs Live London 2011
TM Italia, specialist Italian manufacturers of high quality tailored kitchens, have been invited to launch their innovative domotic (home automation) kitchen named PETRA to the UK market at this year’s Grand Designs Live London in the ‘House of the Future’ sponsored by Virgin Media, which runs from the 30th April until the 8th May 2011, at the ExCeL Centre, Docklands.
Designed by Gianluca Tondi of TM Italia, PETRA is the latest addition to the TM Italia kitchen collection combining nature, minimalism and advanced home technology. Users can ‘unfold’ their kitchen via a remote control which electronically removes worktops and lacquered, stone or metal panels to reveal the functional areas underneath.
One tap of the TM_touch’n’go screen sees the worktop extend and, extractor hood, tap and oven automatically raised, lowered or rotated. A touch of the remote control raises the TM_vision video display. This display features a personalised media centre giving the user access to television, internet or home automation services. Even the kitchen’s lighting can be programmed to suit different moods, all easily activated from the TM_touch’n’go remote control.
The extractor hoods, the faucets, and even an LCD monitor are all neatly hidden away behind moving parts, such as sliding tops and doors, in this minimalist sculptural kitchen providing the ultimate space saving solution. Consumers and trade alike are being encouraged to come down to Grand Designs Live, the UK’s largest kitchen and bathroon show, for the exclusive product launch and to see this groundbreaking new kitchen technology in action for themselves.
The creativity behind Petra is typical of TM Italia who consistently incorporate the latest developments in technology with fine craftsmanship whilst focusing on the individual needs and lifestyle of each customer.
Responding to the latest developments in emerging technology, the kitchen of tomorrow can now either be in standby or operational mode. This new style of kitchen can aesthetically melt into the living space, harmoniously erasing dividing lines between different zones.
Showcased in Milan in 2010, PETRA will make its exclusive UK appearance at Grand Designs Live’s House of the Future, sponsored by Virgin Media, which also showcase other cutting edge and innovative home appliances and products.
