Mereway Kitchens Team Walk for Breakthrough Cancer charity
Congratulations to a group of Mereway staff who recently completed a walk for charity. Jo Brown, Sales Co-Ordinator for Mereway Kitchens organised a ‘Crocus Walk’ of 7 miles for Breakthrough for Breast Cancer, whose work gives hope to the 46,000 women who are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK.
Jo Brown, Justine Bartram, Vicky Tunley, Ziola Leonard, Steve Beale, Shirley Carter and their families walked several times around Cannon Hill Park in Birmingham to raise money for this worthy cause. Their total amount raised was a fantastic £419.
Breakthrough is a pioneering charity that saves lives and changes futures through research, campaigning and education. The organisation works towards improved local breast cancer services, better screening programmes and improved aftercare for all those affected by breast cancer.
Jo Brown who organised the Crocus Walk commented “We’re absolutely delighted with the amount we’ve raised this year.” Jo continues “It’s really easy to organise a Crocus Walk and you can then invite friends and family to join you, making it great fun for everyone and at the same time raising money for a cause that is so important.”
